Temple Grandin School
Private nonprofit school for neurodiverse students in 6th-12th grade in Boulder, CO.
About This Provider
Temple Grandin School (TGS) in Boulder is a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming middle and high school created for bright neurodivergent students who have not thrived in conventional classrooms. Classes are intentionally small and paced to give thoughtful learners time to process, participate, and explore topics in depth, while teachers value different ways of thinking instead of pushing students to fit a standard mold. The school day, from morning routines to project choices and social opportunities, is structured to reduce sensory overload, highlight students’ interests, and build on their unique cognitive profiles so school feels energizing rather than exhausting. Since opening in 2011, TGS has spent thousands of hours learning from neurodivergent students to create an environment where they feel seen, included, and supported to develop confidence, resilience, and long-term academic and life success.
